SURVEY - Milk campaign after quotas

In 2015, the French diary collection reached its maximum level for several years. Unlike other European countries, as Ireland or The Netherlands, France succeeded in limiting its increase of production (+1 %) further the end of the diary quotas last April. It stabilizes on the beginning of 2016.

An online survey with 1 111 Web-Agri’s readers shows the distribution of farmers’ decision to make more or less milk following the stop of the quotas.

45,5% of the breeders will produce the same volume of milk as on the 2014-2015 campaign. 26% will increase their milk production by more than 10%. 5,6% has stopped the diary activity, which corresponds to the cyclical reduction in the number of diary farms estimated at 6%/year on average.
